This Costa Rican is well-balanced with high acidity. This is a Rainforest Alliance and UTZ certified coffee, grown at 1,000-1,200 meters in Naranjo, Costa Rica.
Coffee beans are the seeds from the fruit of the coffee tree. Typically, each fruit contains two seeds which face each other on their flat sides. However, a small percentage of the fruits actually contain a single, rounded seed, referred to as a peaberry. Peaberries are reputed to roast more evenly than the more common flat berries, due to their rounder shape. Many experts also believe that the single peaberries also absorb all the flavors and qualities that would normally be divided between two seeds, making for a more flavorful cup of coffee.
